Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the National Strategy Against Money Laundering

The members of the First College of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the national strategy against money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and corruption met on Thursday, 10 September, under the chairmanship of the Minister of State.

This meeting notably provided an opportunity to take stock of the ongoing FATF ICRG (International Co-operation Review Group) process, following the adoption of the Principality's 4th progress report at the FATF's last plenary meeting in June 2026.

It follows on from a transformation under way since 2022, which led to a structural overhaul of the national anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework and strengthened its effectiveness. These advances ultimately led the FATF to consider, on a preliminary basis, that the Principality had largely completed the implementation of its Action Plan established in June 2024, and to schedule an on-site visit to the Principality.

The Minister of State congratulated and thanked all the authorities for their commitment and professionalism, as well as for all the progress made since the start of the process, while recalling that, beyond the ongoing ICRG process, these efforts must be sustained in view of the numerous future tasks ahead - including the third National Risk Assessment - and in the perspective of Monaco's forthcoming evaluation by the MONEYVAL Committee.

During this meeting, a presentation of recent mutual evaluation reports from other countries was also given, allowing Monaco's AML/CFT framework to be put into perspective alongside those of other jurisdictions, and enabling current international expectations to be identified.
